No blog since July? Really?

Do you ever get to periods in your life where you are just so busy that you can't seem to handle the little odds and ends that you would normally entertain, saving energy only for the absolutely necessary?

That is how I have been since mid-July. For various reasons, I have been spread quite thin. However, and I don't know if you know this, but 9s (and thus Septembers) are all about change. It's numerology. Yeah, I used to be a big dork about it but I have backed off a bit. Still, it's about shedding the old skin and trying on the new. It's about releasing baggage that may not serve you, and it's DEFINITELY about new starts.

So, now that the air has cleared for me, I am starting a new phase in my life. I have been thinking of catch phrases, and perhaps you can help..."gonna shine in 2009" is pretty lame. But it rhymes, which is a big plus. We'll come back to that.

The important thing is that there is so much that is going on in my life, and I am excited about it all. But where does training fit in? (ah, the point...)

I have been so busy that I have been doing the bare minimum. Only maintenance work for the last several weeks. Now, we all get into these periods in our lives where we slow down (or even stop!), and we need a jump start to get back into it. Well, here I go. On 9/9/09 (because I am super cheesy) I have begun an intense 4-week training and diet program. Even trainers need structure to be shoved down their throats here and there, and I will be reporting on what I am thinking, feeling, dreading, and loving over the next month.

I am so green at this that I forgot my book at the gym and can't even tell you exactly what I did today. I will post that tomorrow. Make sure you keep checking back, because I am going to tell you everything about this process for me.
